It's spelling like you've never seen before...

Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont Spelling Bee is a fast-paced, entertaining and hilarious comedy entertainment format that puts four comedians through their paces, as they attempt to spell a myriad of words as best they can, all to be crowned that week’s best speller.

Think you know how spelling works? Think again. Across five rounds, these games don't just test vocabulary, they test nerve, wit, daring and the ability to spell anything under the most ridiculous pressure imaginable, with props, impressions, cocktails, dress-up and musical instruments all fair game. Filmed on an iconic 1970s set in front of a live studio audience, the loser ends up wearing a dunce cap in The Dunce's Corner, while the winner gets a one-way ticket to the next episode to defend their T-I-T-L-E.

Guy-Mont Spelling Bee launched as a weekly primetime smash-hit on Three in New Zealand in 2023, with two further series broadcast in 2024 and 2026. A local original was commissioned by ABC in Australia, where the format has broadcast three primetime series on ABC TV from 2024–2026, plus a Christmas Special in 2025, with a fourth series commissioned for 2027. Format and finished tape available.
