In this BAFTA-Award winning and Emmy® Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant GREG DAVIES (The Cleaner, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant ALEX HORNE (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians. With their personal possessions up for grabs, they have everything to play for, especially their dignity.
Starting in the UK, Taskmaster was the #1 entertainment show on Dave (UKTV) for nine seasons and then moved to Channel 4 in 2020 and became the best-performing new entertainment show on the channel in that year. Taskmaster is watched by a broad multi-generational audience and is also hugely popular on-demand, where the average views per episode have grown series-on-series since 2021. Channel 4 recently renewed the UK version for a further six seasons and ordered a brand-new children-focused entertainment show JUNIOR TASKMASTER.
Taskmaster is now a global phenomenon with local versions of the hit format now being produced in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Croatia.
A mainstay of weekend primetime television across the Nordics, Taskmaster is also a true contender to the ‘shiny floor’ formats beating shows such as ‘The Masked Singer’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’. TASKMASTER AUSTRALIA, launched in 2023, became an overnight success, rating #1 in the much sought after under 50’s demos on Network 10.
The Taskmaster YouTube channel has had over 9 billon impressions and over 700 million views: with just under half the channel’s views originating from North America. The brand’s success has generated an array of merchandise such as books, boardgames and podcasts.
