The Horne Section TV Show is a scripted comedy series, written by and starring Alex Horne (creator of BAFTA and National Comedy Award Winning Taskmaster) and his band The Horne Section.
Tired of being known as the little assistant, Alex Horne finally has the chance to pitch his very own TV show to channel executives. Having been granted permission by Greg Davies, Alex wants to be the leading man of a new late night chat show, The Horne Section TV Show, filmed live from his family home.
With the help of his loyal and much more talented band, the group do their best to impress the big television bosses. Alex’s wife’s producer friend Thora (Desiree Burch) takes pity on them and steps in at the last minute to help them make it to air.. against all the odds.
Season 1 features comics Greg Davies, Tim Key, and John Oliver (who appears as regular special guest) in this unruly, ridiculous, and surprisingly satisfying show.
Following the critically acclaimed run of its debut series on Channel 4 last year, a second season is currently in production. Internationally renowned musician, comedian, writer, and actor Reggie Watts will join this season along with Ronni Ancona (Friday Night Live), Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts), Stevie Martin (8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown), Anna Crilly (Horrible Histories: The Movie) and the returning cast.
